The Easter bunny is standing (or jumping) in front of the door! And so begins the preparations for the big Easter dinner with the whole family. Not the easiest task: After all, everything should be perfect on holiday and no one should go home with a rumbling stomach. We have some fantastic Easter dinner ideas that will make you the star chef among your loved ones.

Easter dinner ideas: what belongs on the table?

Sure: Colorful Easter eggs and Easter bunnies with chocolate are ready for the Easter meal. But what does Germany really eat at the special holiday?

The Easter lamb is traditional, especially in the form of a cake. However, the doughy equivalent of roast lamb is quite time consuming. Because the Easter lamb must be baked in the right shape and takes quite a long time in the oven. Instead of real lamb fillet, hare or pheasant with sauce often end up on German plates, served with boiled potatoes. It’s easier too …

For starters: Easter bunny carrot soup

What does an Easter bunny like to munch on? That’s right, carrots! So if you want to stay true to the motto, cook a delicious carrot soup as an appetizer. Of course, one of the menus strikes a fresh tone – and carrot soup is super light: Boil carrots, potatoes, celery and a whole lot of spices in vegetable broth until all the ingredients are soft.

Our spice favorites: Fresh herbs such as chives, curry and cayenne pepper for a spicy spice and a little ginger. Season with salt and pepper. At the end, puree the soup with a blender like the one from WMF *. 800 milliliters can fit in the unit, thanks to the five function levels, it chops everything from fruit to nuts. Refine the carrot soup at the end with sour cream or crème fraîche.

Ingredient list: Carrot soup for Easter dinner

  • 400 grams of carrots
  • 200 grams of potatoes
  • 100 grams of celery
  • 0.8 l vegetable broth
  • Sour cream (alternative: crème fraîche)
  • Herbs (eg chives, parsley or dill)
  • Spices (curry, pepper, ginger and cayenne pepper)

The main course at Easter: A steak is a must!

A juicy steak with oven-fresh potatoes, croquettes or fried potatoes and seasonal vegetables such as asparagus is an absolute must for all gourmets at the dining table to be satisfied. A prepared steak is enough for the whole family and is a delicious protein after a vegetable soup. If you like it juicy and tender, go for a rolled steak.

And it’s actually quite uncomplicated: coat a pork neck with roasted onions, dried meat, mustard and spices and roll it up. It is best to tie it with rust string. Then cook either in the oven or grill on a contact grill as from WMF *. The advantage: Thanks to sensor technology, the grill shows when the meat has reached the perfect cooking point. It does not dry out and melts nicely in the mouth.

Ingredient list: Roast pork

  • 2 kg pork neck
  • 150 g roasted onions
  • 10 slices beef jerky
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • Salt, Pepper & Co.

Recipes for accessories for Easter dinner:

Easter dinner without eggs? This accessory is one of them!

At Easter, it’s not just the colorful eggs for snacks we love. The main course can also have one or the other egg dish ready. Stuffed eggs as finger food are especially good. Best of all: you go in no time.

Because you only need three ingredients to prepare the Easter meal idea. Mayonnaise, optional herbs and eggs. The egg yolk is spooned out of the hard-boiled eggs and mixed with mayonnaise and some seasonal herbs. Then the egg-mayo mixture is injected back into the cavity – this works best with a liquor bag like the one from Kaiser *.

Ingredient list: Stuffed eggs

  • 12 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons herbs

Tip: An egg cooker * can be useful for preparing the eggs. The advantage: Eggs are boiled to a point with it. This is ideal for hard-boiled eggs. For: If you cook eggs for too long, you may get green or blue yellows. The yolk reacts to boiling for too long. Iron and sulfur compounds produce iron sulphide, which has a greenish luster. With an egg cooker, you can create perfect yellow egg yolks that look beautiful for Easter.

Easter meal idea: A light dessert for those who are craving sweets

A delicious Easter meal ends with a delicious dessert. If you do not have much time to prepare, a glass dessert is a good choice. The dessert can be prepared the night before and placed in the fridge overnight. This allows the aromas to develop much better. Our tip: a fruity parfait with either yogurt, lean quark or mascarpone.

As a lager dessert in glass, the dessert also looks good. To do this, crumble the cakes you choose in the glass * as the first layer and top with a cream, refined with sugar. Drape any fruit on top. Favorites are raspberries, strawberries or even boiled fruit mousse. Mint gives a fresh kick as a small garnish.

Ingredient list: Dessert in stock with raspberries (4 servings)

  • 8 cakes
  • 8 tbsp mascarpone
  • 400 g raspberries, strawberries or mangoes
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • mint
